Presence and wellbeing through the camera — frames never leave the site

Presence is the camera-based presence and wellbeing add-on of BrainOutput. It detects presence, inactivity and situations worth a nudge or an alert — and the video is analysed where it is captured. Frames never leave your site.

The problem: cameras see everything and protect nothing

A person down in a stockroom, someone motionless at a desk for hours, an empty front desk during opening hours — ordinary cameras record these moments without anyone noticing until it is too late.

The usual answer is cloud video analytics — which means your premises' video stream leaving your control. For most businesses that trade-off is unacceptable, and rightly so.

What it does

Presence is designed to detect presence, prolonged inactivity and person-down situations from the cameras you already have, and to raise an alert — with the time and place — to the people you choose.

For wellbeing, it is designed to notice patterns like long uninterrupted sitting and offer gentle nudges. These are reminders, never health advice, and never a diagnosis.

It detects presence, not people: no identity, no face recognition, no tracking of who is who.

Privacy: video analysed where it is captured

Frames are processed on site, inside your BrainOutput deployment, and are never sent to a cloud service — ours or anyone else's. Frame retention is off by default.

Presence sees that someone is there, never who they are: presence only, no identity. That is a design constraint of the product, not a configuration option.

How it plugs into BrainOutput

Alerts and nudges arrive in the same BrainOutput environment as the rest of your operations — no separate dashboard to watch.

Because it runs on the platform's private models, Presence follows the same confidentiality routing as everything else: video analysis is sensitive work, and it never leaves your infrastructure.

Frequently asked questions

Does Presence identify people on camera?

No, and it is built not to. Presence detects that a person is present, inactive or down — never who they are. There is no identity, no face recognition, no tracking of individuals.

Do our video frames leave the building?

Never. Analysis happens on site, inside your BrainOutput deployment, on private models. Frames are not sent to any cloud service, and frame retention is off by default.

Is the wellbeing feature medical advice?

No. Wellbeing features are gentle nudges — a reminder to move after a long stretch of sitting, for example. They are not health advice, not a diagnosis, and not a medical device.

Can we see Presence before committing?

Yes — book a demo to see Presence on our own cameras — never on third-party footage — and to discuss what a deployment at your site would look like.
